Cardiovascular magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is the most advanced imaging method for evaluating heart function. At Emerald, the investigation is carried out by a team of an experienced radiologist and a cardiologist specialized in cardiovascular MRI, during which over 1500 images were taken from the heart, using a latest generation device, faster, more precise and quieter.

Magnetic resonance imaging is painless and harmless scanning, which allows us to look inside the body without the use of X-rays. With the help of a magnet and radio waves, we obtain detailed images of very good quality regarding the structure and function of your heart.

It is indicated in the case of the following pathologies: Ischemic heart disease, Acute myocardial infarction, Ischemic heart disease, Angina pectoris, Coronary stents, Aorto-coronary bypass, Heart failure, Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, Myocarditis, Myocardial fibrosis, Dilatric cardiomyopathy, Ventricular dysplasia, Ventricular dysplasia Ventricular arrhythmias, Cardiac resynchronization, CRT, Thalassemia, Hemochromatosis, Amyloidosis, Fabry disease, Aortic regurgitation, Aortic insufficiency.
In our center is performed cardiac stress magnetic resonance , a new investigation in Romania, but widely used in other European countries, dedicated to special pathologies, such as: Ischemic heart disease, Acute myocardial infarction, Cardiopathy ischemic, angina, coronary stents, aorto-coronary bypass.

    Who conducts the investigation?

In the Emerald Medical Center, each Cardio-MR examination is performed in the presence of a medical team . It consists of Dr. Răzvan Capșa – primary radiologist and medical imaging physician, with over 15 years experience in cardiovascular imaging, Radu Nicolaescu doctor – radiologist specialized in Romania, having a special interest for congenital heart diseases and Dr. Sebastian Onciul, trained imaging cardiologist in the United Kingdom in the field of Cardio-RM, co-editor of the Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance Guide of the European Cardiology Society and the European Cardiovascular Imaging Society (ESC / EACVI).
In the last year, over 300 Cardio-MR investigations were performed in this formula at the Emerald Medical Center . Being the first center in Romania that has made stress cardio-MRI and the first one that makes Cardio-MR in contract with the Health Insurance House of the Municipality of Bucharest (CASMB), our team has both the necessary experience and the latest generation MR equipment, to perform the most clear and well-documented Cardio-MR examinations.
In addition, the medical team works with the auxiliary medical staff so patients get to know all the details regarding the investigation at the time of the appointment, to understand the implications and the results offered by the medical team in a meeting with the patient at the end of the examination, but also to choose the best treatment option, where is the case.
The team of assistants and the patient preparation team for investigation work together to provide a complete experience to patients performing a CARDIO-MRI at Emerald.

Primary Radiology Physician – Medical Imaging – Medical Director

Dr. Razvan Alexandru Capsa is Head of Papers at UMF Carol Davila, member of the National Committee of the Romanian Society of Radiology and Medical Imaging (SRIM), member of the French Society of Radiology (SFR), founding member of the Board of Directors of the Society of Magnetic Resonance in Medicine in Romania (SRMMR), associate member of the Romanian Society of Cardiology (SRC).

Specialist Cardiologist, with European level 3 certification in cardiovascular magnetic resonance

University Assistant at UMF Carol Davila, Dr. Sebastian Onciul is specialized in non-invasive imaging diagnosis of cardiovascular diseases. He was awarded the European Cardiology Society’s scholarship to train for one year in the UK in the field of Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance. He is a member of the European Society of Cardiovascular Imaging and co-editor of the Pocket Guide for Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance of the European Society of Cardiology (ESC) / European Society of Cardiovascular Imaging (EACVI).

Radiology Specialist

Specialist radiologist, specialized in cardio-MRI, especially in the part of image retrieval and with a special interest for congenital heart diseases.

This investigation cannot be performed without a recommendation from the cardiologist. For a better interaction with patients and their preparation, being a complex investigation, at Emerald you can find more details about the investigation from a dedicated person – Bogdan Baciu – bogdan.baciu@emeraldmed.ro – 0739/675688. You can contact us anytime on this data or you can request an appointment directly on our website.

What do the images look like?

   EMERALD Differences

In 2019, the EMERALD team has developed a special software dedicated to the relationship with cardiologists, so that they have real-time access to the images and results of the patients who performed a Cardio-MRI, available for free to any clinician. Thus, there is a permanent communication between our team and the sending cardiologists, now offering an online technical tool to facilitate quick access to the information obtained from the Cardio-MR investigation
Also, the scientific activity of our medical team, as well as the involvement in various clinical studies dedicated to patients who need Cardio-RM, national and international, certify the highest level at which this investigation is carried out in the Emerald Medical Center.
With a rich experience and recognition in the community of cardiologists in Romania, but also with a presence in numerous scientific congresses of cardiology and imaging, conducting these investigations at Emerald guarantees you a result that the cardiologists who have requested this investigation can trust in making the following treatment or intervention decisions.
A virtual tour of the room where the investigation takes place can be seen here.

Cardiac MRI = Cardiac MRI = CARDIO- MRI = Heart MRI = Cardiovascular MRI = Cardiac MRI = Cardiac MRI, but the correct medical formula is Cardiac MRI or CARDIO-MRI.
